Hello all!
I just found this community. I love Abbie Hoffman, and anything he has written. Has anyone made it to the Yippie museum/cafe at 9 Bleecker? I want to go so badly.
Great community!

"Wake Up, America!" mp3's

Hey, everybody!
I just joined the community. I'd heard a bit here and there about Abbie while growing up in his home town in Massachusetts, but it was only this year that I decided it was long past time for me to learn about him for myself. He was a truly amazing character, and, in my opinion, one of the greatest of American revolutionaries (but I don't think I'm alone in that sentiment).

I read Soon to Be a Major Motion Picture over the summer and occasionally go looking for more information on his life and message. My most recent search led me to the rare 1969 album, Wake up, America!, containing segments from speeches, interviews, and satire by Abbie, Jerry Rubin, and others, posted online in downloadable mp3 format. (I saved all of it to my hardrive).

I love Abbie Hoffman. I don't know what else to say.

Who's heard the Who concert where Abbie was kicked off stage? I've heard different accounts, does anyone know which is real?

And, does anyone know Anita's psudonym (sp?) for the book she wrote?

Abbie Hoffman was a god damn revolution unto himself.
I am reading To america, with Love: Letters to the Underground and I must say that it's absolutely amazing and engrossing.
Fucking, let's revive this community.
